English Riding Lessons

Jody has been a riding instructor for the last 20 years and been riding her entire life. She has shown in Dressage, A-Circuit Hunter/Jumpers, and Eventing. She has been a barn manager,  veterinarian assistant, horse show manager, and clinician. See more about our team here.

On your first riding lesson, you should wear a pair of stretch pants (no jeans) and a pair of riding boots. We recommend paddock boots and half chaps. We have loaner helmets available until you are ready to purchase one of your own.

Ready to buy now? See our recommendations.

As a beginning student, you will learn how to groom, tack, and untack.  You will learn how to steer, walk, trot, and basic equitation. When you have mastered these skills, you will learn how to canter.

Once you can perform these basic skills you will move up to intermediate and can specialize your training in dressage, jumping, cross country, or just keep riding with a professional there to help you grow as a rider.

When you are ready, we will be there to help you lease or find a horse of your own. We also can help you with shows.
